Pretesto per un sentimento esprime un’attenzione verso la mediazione che l’influenza religiosa ha avuto nella nostra formazione storico-culturale e sociale e un interesse verso i modi in cui si è sedimentata. L’intervento sottolinea i conflitti e gli interstizi presenti fra senso di colpa, carattere punitivo e redentivo. Il carbone nell’immaginario collettivo di noi italiani assume diverse simbologie, quando viene promesso al bimbo, rappresenta un pretesto attraverso il quale il carattere punitivo religioso, per quanto oggi appaia meno invadente di un tempo, continua ad alimentarsi. Il senso di colpa diventa, attraverso differenti ingressi, parte integrante e stratificata del nostro quotidiano, costituendosi come reazione all’infrazione di un’autorità morale esterna ma radicata. Liberarsi e riparare a tale radicazione attraverso una condivisione laica rappresenta una delle possibili reazioni. Durante Pretesto per un sentimento è offerto un supporto emozionale al visitatore

Pretext for a feeling expresses the attention to the mediation that religious influence had in our cultural-historical and social education yet an interest towards the ways it sedimented.
The intervention stresses conflicts and interstices laying amogst sense of guilt, punishment and redemption attitudes. In the collective imagery of us Italians, coal acquires different simbologies: when promised to the child, it represents a pretext by which the punitive religious attitude, although nowadays less pervasive than before, keeps on fostering itself. The sense of guilt becomes, through different ways in, an essential and stratified part of our everyday life, establishing itself as a reaction to the violation of a moral authority, external yet deeply entrenched. Liberating from and giving reparation to this radication through a lay commonality represents one of the possible solutions. During Pretext for a feeling an emotional support is offered to the visitors.
